A DIFFERENT PATH TO COMMUNITY SERVICE
Across all NSW registered clubs, only a small percentage of members knows how to nominate for their board and the importance of participating in voting. The Beach Club, Collaroy aim to change that with their upcoming Board elections to be held in July 2018.
It starts with an introductory information evening to be held 7pm on Monday, 4 June, The Beach Club, Collaroy. Members can download the comprehensive Applying for a Directorship guide.
The June information evening will cover the role of the board, duties of a director, company structure and outline the commitment involved for a board member. The evening will also cover important dates and what is involved in completing director training, which is mandatory under the Registered Clubs Act.
Being elected to the board, is a terrific way to serve the community. The club seeks professional people, community-minded people, family people – people who have something to offer and who will contribute to continuing the vision for the club into the future.
Taking on a directorship is a big commitment. Any member interested in making directorships part of their career and service to the community are encouraged to come along to the information evening.
